British International School, Uppsala (BISU)

I’m 16 and I went to this school last year. I got in on a scholarship (thank god) because it costs way to much for such a horrid school. I did a huge amount of research and according to them I would be offered this mind blowing “steam” education, I have good grades so I thought this would be a great opportunity for me.

I went to the interview and got accepted the same day (somehow). Normally you would change schools the next school year but no, they wanted me to start the next week, that was 4 days from the interview and I had to accept in that time. Already that was rushed but it seemed like a good school so I accepted.

At first the school felt pretty nice, the students were very friendly and I made friends very quickly. Though as time passed we lost more and more teachers for unknown reasons. As it turned out they were fired for literally the smallest things.

We got a few new teachers but we only had like 4 teachers and one of them was the principals wife that isn’t even supposed to be a teacher, she’s the vise principal. Not only that but we got 5th grade level assignments and the dress code was insane. They said we weren’t allowed to wear jeans because it was informal but we were allowed to wear sweatpants, sweatpants are not formal, definitely not more formal than jeans. A girl even got yelled at by Mr.Hanna the principal/CEO, who btw everyone was really afraid of due to his strictness.

I went to the school for around 6-7 weeks and during that time we lost 5, maybe 6 teachers. That is insane. Definitely not worth going to. Though don’t blame the teachers they were very nice but they were too afraid of Mr.Hanna and unfortunately got fired, I wish the bests of luck to them and I hope they find a better school.

This school does not have a principal and not enough teachers. 3-4 teachers for each subject have been changed within a year. Not enough subjects are being taught on pretext of not having teachers. Teachers are being fired for minor issues. Just cannot understand how the National agency for education is letting this school to function

This school was a very bad decision for my children. I would highly recommend you look into articles written about the school prior to enrolling your own children. My experience was these articles were very accurate.

A few reviews are floating around the internet based on wrong facts and assumptions. This school is a very good school, and they are doing very well for being newly opened

Känns som en riktig fuffensskola där det kostar extremt mycket pengar bara för att gå där. Skolan har skickat ut brev till alla elever i åk 8 i Uppsala kommun. Det kostar 5000 kr bara för att ansöka. Skolinspektionen har redan ögonen öppna. Gå inte på att sätta era barn i den här skolan vad ni än gör
